The shitshow continues:

“I am not guilty of these crimes. In this country I am innocent until proven guilty and that is the law,” Ms Stella told The Guardian at the time of her arrest.

Ms Stella missed multiple court hearings concerning her alleged felony, resulting in a judge issuing the warrant for her arrest.

Um… well, she is guilty of ignoring a summons. See, when you don’t show up for one of those, you’re found guilty on account of the fact that you clearly weren’t there, and the court can see that.

She didn’t ignore the summons. It was for DANIELLE STELLA, not her. (I’m kidding, but I wouldn’t be shocked if that’s her excuse.)

This reminds me of something I noticed in the artists’ bios for the most recent opera. I realize that the artists themselves create their bios, but there is an editor who could suggest changes before publication. Anyway, all of the opera singers put where they were from in their first sentence, which means you get a lot of “American mezzo soprano” or “American tenor”, but then also the countries of origin for singers from around the world. In that context, having one of the singers listed as “a soprano from Puerto Rico” struck me as very backward. It made it seem like PR was a foreign country. Why not “an American singer born in Puerto Rico”?
