As California organizations cancel meetings left and right and the World Health Organization has labeled the Covid-19 spread a pandemic, CRA Executive Director Carl Brickey said that the group will take plenty of precautions to protect members, but dubbed the response to the coronavirus âan overreaction.â
âWhatâs going to happen when we truly have a public health crisis?â he asked in an interview. "People will just go, âOh jeez,â and they wonât take it seriously.â
If it wasnât for the fact that they are going to make this worse for everyone else, Iâd be like âOkay, fine, whatever.â

The ruling class arenât subject to public hospital ER triage, because theyâll never have to go through the peasantâs ER in the first place. They have their own doctors on call, and they have the ability to jerk the strings of the administrators in the most exclusive hospitals.

Those private doctors will still have to go through gatekeepers at the ICU and hospital admitting. While they are not infallible, in most cases they are also not corrupt. In Seattle, with the way things are playing out there, yes, I think Joeâs going to be turfed to the hallway.
Iâve spend enough time in hospitals to have a feel for the kind of people who work there. 99% of the time, they arenât for sale.

I totally agree, and have discussed this over the years with enough doctors and medical admin to know that in addition to everything youâve already said, there are also the issues of compliance, internal audit, etc. that structure every aspect of medicine these days. This isnât the sort of thing that concierge medicine can help with.
