And it is incredible because it is an absolute myth, and instilled in people so quickly. It reminds me of The Thing, or Invasion of the Body Snatchers. It’s like McCarthyism was dormant hypnotic suggestion and just suddenly flared up on command.

Given the venue, I have to wonder if it isn’t a matter of suggestion. They need people asking for it to happen. They probably want the whole conspiracy/QAnon movement thinking the only way to really achieve their goals is to create a dictatorship and remove the Left’s ability to have a voice in government completely.
It’s frightening to think of what Alex Jones audience would make of that.
