The Gallery of Trump-Inspired Assholes (Part 1)

Was he not? My mom’s been bringing out the old “it’s a republic, not a democracy” since the 2nd bush election at least.

I saw a video on Instagram the other day of Caserta going full-blown racist anti-masker in a store. You couldn’t mistake him for anyone else. So telling about his leanings.

Long read, but worth it, about Lindsey “Stinkball” Graham. Yes, that’s his actual, self-professed childhood nickname, according to the article.

On its website, the Fresno County Republican Party also shared a list of “secure” ballot collection locations. None are official county drop box sites, with the local GOP instead listing its own headquarters, multiple gun shops and other local businesses.

The California Republican Party did not respond to requests for comment about the boxes by deadline. But they’ve been defending the practice in replies on Twitter, alleging the process was made legal under a 2016 law that allows California voters to designate a person to return their ballot for them. The GOP calls the practice “ballot harvesting” and blames it for losses to the Democrats in OC and other places in 2018.

But state officials clarified that using an unauthorized vote-by-mail drop box would not meet the requirements of the 2016 law. No designated “person” would be signing for the ballots as required by state law.

the absolute criminal depths Repubs will sink to knows no bottom.

So the sentence for promoting one of these drop boxes is to spend a month inside it, right?

I wonder if anything came from the threats against Lady G by the gay porn star last June. It’s October and we’re all ready for that surprise.

I’m confused by this. Presumably the GOP is promoting these drop boxes to Republicans, right? I mean I can’t see them successfully encouraging democrats to go to the local gun shop to drop off their vote. Are the votes unsealed such that they could remove the occasional Biden vote from what they collect? It seems to me that this whole setup would involve a larger risk that the Republican votes wouldn’t be counted rather than improving those odds.

On the count of “It’s a republic; not a democracy.” However, misguided saying this is, it seems to me that the fundamental feature of a republic is that its leaders are subject to the law, otherwise, how could a state be considered a public interest? To claim that the US is a republic is to claim that any argument that the President should not be expected to defend themselves in court for their crimes is invalid. Even if you think that the US’s status as a republic means that we should establish two classes of people, such that only the “right” kind of people are allowed to have a significant voice in the running of government, there is no notion in a republic that the leaders are therefore allowed to act as criminals.

Criminal masterminds these idiots aren’t. I assume they’re trying to prove a point about “voter fraud” by creating a scenario where ballots are “improperly” thrown out and those thrown-out ballots happen to all be Republican (suspicious, no?), but anybody with two neurons to rub together can easily comprehend that the OC GOP is just flagrantly violating election laws.

oh if only they merely wanted two classes

Yeah, it’s win-win. If they succeed in harvesting ballots with their fake ballot boxes, they can sort through them and cross-reference to their voter rolls. Pass along the likely R votes and the others just happen to fall into the ocean from a plane thousands of miles out to sea. If they don’t, it’s evidence of rampant voter fraud. It’s a federal crime which Turmp can pardon them for.

Just goes too show its not only individuals that are emotionally addicted to the myth of certainty; big business is an addict too.

Well, of course. It takes 50 to 80 Clorox wipes to kill a deer, but two shots with a 30-06, and my counters are spotless.

“ Persistent rumors about why Giuliani’s speech had been moved from South to Northeast Philadelphia flew around the small event. A spokesman for Mayor Jim Kenney didn’t return a request for comment about whether his office had been involved.

State coronavirus restrictions were recently loosened, and now use a capacity-based cap.

In a statement posted to social media, the original venue — the 15,000 square foot 2300 Arena — said the rally had been canceled due to “existing COVID-19 government restrictions.”

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that an owner said the event had been misrepresented to them, and they canceled it upon realizing it was a Trump rally.”

Bad things. :joy:
