The genius of W.R. Case & Sons’ Amber Bone “Hobo Knife”

Show me someone who spends $85 dollars on a knife and a week later I’ll show you a hobo.

Always two, there are?

Makes me think of the graduation scene from the TV show Kung Fu, “If you can snatch this knife from my hand and stab me with it…”

For what it’s worth…Boker makes a pretty darn nice one for $20…less on sale…

it is always a good idea to bring a fork and a spoon to a knife fight!

Never leave home without a parrying spoon.

I see you’ve played knifey-spoony before.

I can’t tell if that is cute slapstick or horrific violence. I am soooooo not taking a chance that it is the latter. So not clicking :cold_sweat:

It’s 99% spoon based, although a knife and gun do appear briefly.

(to be momentarily serious: exceptionally funny parody of slasher flicks, not gruesome except in a very low-impact cartoon sense)

Holy crap! I just watched it. That’s serious, serious commitment to a single ho hum joke. So many set ups to film. :hushed:

Who needs a knife and fork?

I had one of those. I still have the spoon - the knife and fork fell victim to my obsession with lightweight backpacking. One of the better sets I have had (and I’ve owned a few).

Personally, I’m not a fan of the whole concept, but this looks like a better choice than the hobo knife for less than half the price:

Case is a respected American name in knives, but these days they seem to be marketed mostly towards collectors, who buy every variation of handle material and colour, then store them away in a display cabinet.

I had something like this when I used to go camping.

I think I see the flaw in your plan…

As did we all.

These days, I’m more inclined to use something like this:

Kathmandu AU

(without the plate and bowl; I just eat out of my Trangia cookpot)

The polycarbonate is a tiny fraction of the weight of a steel set.

I use a spoon and fork like that (currently about $0.85CDN each). If I need a knife for eating I have a cheap Italian table knife that cuts really well, can be sharpened, and weighs essentially nothing.
