I’ve seen this movie. Tomorrow the Culture blows up Vavatch us? Given the news lately, we probably have it coming. Good knowing you all. See ya at the Damage finals
O you who turn the wheel and look to windward,
Consider Phlebas, who was once handsome and tall as you.
tempting to sail it to a lake on an island (canal access?), install a big tub of water on it, float a cruise ship, float another boat in the cruise ship’s pool, tub of water on that one, flatboat in the tub, augmented reality sandbox on the flatboat, and so forth
boat in tub on a boat on a lake in an island on a boat in a pool on a boat in a pool on a ship in a lake on an island in a lake on an island

…oh no, I’ve gone cross-eyed.
Ships that ship islands are much bigger.
This one could almost lift Blue Marlin (and a high-rise building at the same time):
What? No Amazon link?
FPSO Shippy McMonster Ship.
[oh look, there are so many ship prefixes I hardly know which one to choose]
I seem to remember that the Culture likes to preserve planets for their biological and planetological diversity (or sentimentality). If they evacuate us all to their socialist utopia, they can have the planet; they’ll probably take better care of it than we have.
Are you kidding? They’re all a bunch of godless perverts, and illegal aliens to boot! I say the good old US Army should pay them a call. What knife-missiles?
The S.S. Stutter (thank you Graham Higgins).
ETA: I was all ready to cook up a fresh meme but this one was already out there because of course it was.
I am not surprised the ship can hold that much. I am surprised the other ships are made to stack like that and the bottom one can hold the weight of the others!!
Is there a turtle in the sandbox?
Not a ship. but a damn big floaty thing - the Troll-A gas platform…

A ship shipping ship, shipping ship shipping ships, shipping ships
FINALLY!
[Srsly, I am disappoint that it took 10 comments, but then again, I resisted the temptation myself.]
I applaud you, kind internet friend.
Now we wait for someone to set it to music.
Nice to know someone still gives a ship.
