I think National Geographic had one of those flexible discs in an issue in 1974 (-ish) of whale song. My friend and I listened to it regularly. Was weird. Pretty sure whales smoke pot.
It was around 1979, I think - I still have mine.
Had the good fortune to spend some time with Payne while volunteering with The Ocean Alliance. Treasured memories.
