Bond even worked for the INGSOC government of Britain in Alan Moore’s “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” series (not to be confused with the terrible film featuring Sean Connery). Moore ties 1984 into the continuity by making it neither a future prediction nor a an alternate history but rather a failed post-war regime in Britain that eventually collapsed like the Communist regimes in Eastern Europe did in our world.
