Remember that every Olympic sport (and pretty much every organized sport not included in the Olympics) has an annual or biennial World Championship. I’m not really sure providing a higher profile every four years to competitions that already occur is worth the corrupt excesses of the IOC.

Sure, I understand that sentiment. I think the point I was trying to get across is that’s really something we should be asking the athletes, as they are the ones who literally have skin in the game, and many of them have chosen to put this level of commitment in because competing at the Olympics specifically is a goal of theirs.

Everyone has skin in this game. Particularly people from countries fleeced by the IOC scum. We know what athletes want, it’s everyone else whose opinion hadn’t been sought
