I was referring to traditional Japanese art, not hentai, although the first example of tentacle porn was in the traditional style.

I am not convinced that there is any distinction between the ukiyo-e genre (including “Dream of the Fisherman’s WIfe”), which was the cheap mass-production kitsch of its day; and contemporary hentai. Why is one “traditional art” and not the other?

Woodcuts can be very painful, and whoever decided to call Ulmus rubra the “Slippery Elm” was vastly exaggerating its degree of lubrication.

Ahem: To say that men have generally been socialized to the extent that many of them enact common egregious tendencies is not to say that they all enact them, nor to say that no women display them.
That doesn’t usually seem to need stating, but then I remember that sometimes it does.

TA is part of it, but those rapid changes of role and affect in the Karpman Drama Triangle are associated with mental illness, and that gets glossed over. .
Oh and Karpman has a new self published book, probably because he got pissed at the horrible hack job of “The Power Of T.E.D.”
… also note that merely mentioning that a branch of psychology exists prompts one person to say it’s an “excellent topic for a different thread” while someone else pops a mental circuit breaker. And that also would be an excellent topic for a different thread.
