In 2020, 543,018 missing persons cases were entered into the FBI’s National Crime Information Center system.
Of those, 365,348 were age 17 or under, down from 421,394 in 2019.
The counts include children who were reported missing to law enforcement more than one time.
The number of active cases is much smaller.
The nonprofit National Center for Missing & Exploited Children said it assisted law enforcement, families and child welfare agencies with 29,782 cases of missing children in 2020.
Of those, 27,072 were runaways, the vast majority of whom are located quickly, said the center’s Rebecca Steinbach. The next-largest category was family abduction, 1,396 cases.

The vast majority of them, actually. One of the first things the Biden admin did was start reuniting those families. They started with 5000-some kids in custody without family and last time I saw a figure for it the number was down to 200-some. That was several months ago, though.
Probably something that they should tout more, but it’s hard to get good news out with the fascists taking up all the oxygen.

So far, I don’t know if there has been any cases of people trying to cast multiple votes for the Democratic candidates… it’s all been republicans in 2020. Pure projection.

I suspect it’s worse than that. “We know for certain that they are cheating, so we have to even it up.” That’s how we get “If they win, we know that they will take away our rights, so we have to take theirs away first!” They can justify all their assholery and insurrection as “preemptive self defense” since they “know for sure” that we will do them in. I find having hope for a bright future gets harder all the time.

This mindset also drives white racial grievances. They know exactly how racist and biased our society is, and they fully believe that the people who want equality are really out for revenge against whitey. They believe what they and their ancestors did to others will happen to them.
