If she doesn’t quit, Arizona dems are probably going to make the decision for her the next time she’s up for re-election.
Despite the story being debunked, fascists are going to continue using this elementary school shooting to attack trans people.
“All I have to say is this is the result of what happens when kids are pushed past their limits,” the candidate wrote. “Its (sic) obvious he was brainwashed in school by liberal teachers to think he shouldn’t be a male. If this crap doesn’t stop we will have more shootings because there are alot (sic) more confused, fed up and now mentally ill kids out there thanks to the #publicschoolsystem THIS is why I have been TRYING to get the truth out about what the schools are doing to our youth because it’s DANGEROUS.”
whaddaya think he’ll trade me for my Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card?
So that’s who Trader Joe is!
Oh, wow, all us “liberal elites” are so totally owned by the “conservatives” who can’t be arsed to consult a dictionary prior to inscribing anything displayed publicly.
Nice hat Joe.
Senator Krysten Sinema must get tired of saying basically the same thing over and over again, answering the same questions, and seeing basically the same headlines about herself all the time.
So I’ve helpfully written the last public statement she’ll ever need - she could just post it online, and tell journalists and constants to look at it, just look at it, instead of bothering this hard-working representative of the people of Arizona for an interview on literally anything.
I was hoping you guys could look it over before I sent it, and an invoice, to Senator Sinema.
“People all across America want us to do something on this issue… I won’t though. In fact, I’ll actively interfere with any attempt my colleagues make to do anything. Seriously, anything that people actually want I will refuse to support and throw up any roadblocks I can. At most, I’ll make some sympathetic noises and say I’ll talk to other senators about maybe, someday, kinda doing something - probably almost purely symbolic of course.
Then we’ll conclude there’s absolutely nothing we could do, even though we totally want to. There just aren’t enough votes in the Senate, tragically we’re often just one or two votes shy. Sadly that is something which I have absolutely no control over.
So If people would please stop wasting all of our time asking me to do anything, that would be great. Thank you and God Bless my campaign do… America. God Bless America.”
I could probably also sell the same statement to Joe Manchin. Maybe even Susan Collins, if I added in something about pretending to take a principled stand - right up until the GOP leadership tells her how to vote at which point she’ll fold like a cheap deck chair.
I’m not sure Manchin even cares enough to pretend. He just stands there with his hand out, and whenever someone piles a sufficient weight of $100 bills on it, he kisses their ass. Then he goes back to standing there with his hand out.
He’s like a vending machine…
Yadda yadda, “political divide,” “both sides,” etc.
And thanks for posting that piece about Sprague in Maine. It’s not my district, and I’ve been offline, so I hadn’t heard about her. Allegedly she’s apologizing now, but there’s no apology that can make her original statement okay. I’m going to help get the word out and hopefully she doesn’t win a seat…
You’re welcome. Unfortunately, other republicans around the country are continuing to make similar claims.
Why is she wearing a fake cowboy hat in Massachusetts?
It’s all performative, isn’t it?
That’s the only kind of cowboy hat one can find in Massachusetts.
But, yes, it’s like cosplay meets dog-whistle.
“They just want you to think that all of a sudden the entire population is steadily turning gay or turning trans. Just generation, generation. Probably in about four or five generations, no one will be straight anymore. Everyone will be either gay or trans or non-conforming or whatever the list of 50 or 60 different options there are.”
The far-right has been pushing the old stereotype lately that LGBTQ people are recruiting or “turning” children queer. Until Greene’s claim, it has largely focused on the uptick in young people who don’t identify as cisgender.
There has also been an increase in the number of people who say they are left-handed. In both cases, the reason is that people have come to accept both left-handed people and transgender folks, lowering the amount of stigma.
She rebutted the assertion that white supremacist groups are “the most dangerous terrorists” by saying that “some of the most dangerous people in America are trans-terrorists.”
She sounds a lot like Bill Maher, I bet he’s proud.
