Agree. RagĂš is RagĂš, and is something else.
This is not pretending to be ragĂš, this is what the Brittish so lovingly call âSpag Bol.â
Itâs basically the equivalent of Chicken Tikka Masala, or General Tsoâs Chicken. Roughly the right flavors for something from that general part of the world, but nothing that the natives would cook themselves.
That said, even as an Italian, a good Spag Bol is perfectly good.
This recipe looks more doable and flavorful than the last time someone made âspag bolâ for me; they used Alton Brownâs recipe, which took half of a day and a kitchenâs worth of ingredients, and was perfectly serviceable but surprisingly bland. Subtle amounts of ingredients donât really come forth in a recipe like this.
