I guess that ends any chances of there ever being a reunion tour. Yet another reason to hate Morissey who was famously awful to Andy. Legend has it he fired Andy by placing a postcard under a windshield wiper on his car.
He was a phenomenally good bassist who made The Smiths’ sound unmistakable.
Anyway, fuck cancer. RIP king.

I, like many, listened to the Smiths incessantly in my twenties. Somehow it wasnt until reading Johnny Marrs’words here that it struck me just how deeply important those fantastoc bass riffs were in creating the Smiths’ sound. The first part of any of thier somgs that plays in my head is the bass line. They really were fantastic. Thank you Andy Rourke for all the good times.
