It looks and sounds like an artifact from a book in Myst, but there it would have some sort of puzzle like features.

It reminds me of “A Sound Garden” (yes, the band got their name from the “Scultpure”). Unfortunately, it was fenced in after 9/11 (and I moved cross country) so it was less accessible than it once was. Can anyone confirm it is still fenced?
Combine the Blue Man Group and noisy plumbing and you’ve got the sound of it. I have had the distinct pleasure of walking out onto it on a foggy morning and just sitting and listening as the fog cleared. Definitely one of the calmest things one can do in SF.
