MTG has a net worth of 1.5 million dollars not to mention the 400 million dollar company she inherited when her dad passed away. Why did she need a PPP Loan anyway?

And yes, people who make films need to get paid, because they are not all rich stars like Tom Cruise. The majority of people who work on films are in fact just making a regular living. I suspect that Witherspoon wanted to ensure that the people who work for her company were able to keep getting paid.
That makes perfect sense, and is a good reason to apply for the loan. Not a good reason to be forgiven all of it necessarily.
As long as she abided by the rules of the forgiveness program, why shouldn’t she have?
I also don’t think she was one of the people whinging about the student loan forgiveness, either, which is part of the problem with MTG - she got her PPP loans forgiven, and is upset about student loan forgiveness.
