This is a terrifying and clearly correct analysis.

That’s silly. It’s like saying that the characters in Game of Thrones aren’t human because our planet doesn’t have the continent of WesterOHMYGOD JOHN SNOW IS AN ALIEN THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING.

There are very few human beings on Earth, as a matter of fact. We are all on borrowed time…

I like to think of GoT being set in a different part of the multiverse, right on the other side of the Discworld’s universe.

There have been at least a few direct family references in movies and TV shows since this essay was written in 2013. Han specifically stated his father used to build Corellian freighters, Jyn Erso’s parents were integral to the plot of Rogue One, there were the krill farming families from The Mandalorian, plus a whole bunch of stuff from cartoons and other Expanded Universe content.

Even if we’re only counting Lucas-era live action content there’s Owen Lars’ dad from the prequels and Towani family from Caravan of Courage and Battle for Endor.

Imagine thinking this is intentional rather than the byproduct of lazy writing :joy:

When one analyzes a work of fiction’s worldbuilding, implications are implications, regardless of how intentional - or hilarious - they are.

There’s another world on the flip side of the Disc where four upside-down elephants and Great A’Tuin’s shell dominate the sky and create uninhabitable strips where they touch the Disc.

How many Bothans died to bring us this information?

Also, are Bothans a species, a social grouping, a space-sportsball team, a religious group…

They’re a high-stakes delivery service; think of them as suicidal bicycle couriers.

For what it’s worth, human-like people are specifically referred to as humans in the books and roleplaying games.

That’s actually not far from the Star Wars species Selonian, a sort of otter-person.

Why do they speak English for the most part and why is there sound in space? I find Hardware Wars more believable then Star Wars.
