Seriously though, few spiritual movements that aren’t malicious cults actually start out as such. People come together around some constituent elements, and in the process have some spiritual experiences which bond them to common understandings and rituals. Going forward, the purpose of the movement is to reenact and celebrate these things over and over.
In the case of psytrance, I would say the constituent elements were a distinctive electronic genre and lots of LSD.

i’m all for dildos made of all sorts of material but the “healing” claim is a little too woo woo for the hoo hoo if you ask me. real healing dildos come with spirit guide nipple clamps and a butt shaman.
