I’m not sure how much of a “help” emptying a pool to clean it is. Unless a pool is in particularly bad shape, with a lot of contaminants, you just want to scoop out large organic debris like leaves, use a long-handled brush on the sides/floor, change the water chemistry temporarily to kill whatever is living in it, get the PH right and clean out the filter (and run it a bit). The pool they showed just had a bit of excess algae in it, which is pretty easily treated and definitely doesn’t require emptying the pool. The drought may be technically over in California for the moment, but unnecessarily wasting this amount of water, just for a temporary skate park, is still pretty grotesque.
