You’d think it would be cheaper to just post a cop there.
There is a sub-division station within view of the park and it might still be operational but police have more helpful things to do in Venice.
Brings new meaning to the term “grind”.
I’m sure when things return to “normal” that’ll clean up in a jiffy.
“Venice Makes Giant Litter Box From Local Skate park. Area Cats Overjoyed.”
Maybe it’s time to issue an addendum to all those “SKATEBOARDING IS NOT A CRIME” stickers.
Wouldn’t those cats be just as likely to shit on the beach 20 feet away?
When did a cat not shit in the fresh new thing, except out of spite?
Not what I expected to see. I was expecting FULL of sand. It would take a couple determined skaters with shovels and brooms about 30 minutes to clear out a section.
That image doesn’t exactly fit with the popular conception of skater culture.
“Look at those slacker punks, always terrorizing the neighborhood with their unauthorized civic cleanup projects.”
Skaters, nahh. Bring in the curling team!
Venice has a skate park? Oh, the other Venice.
Skaters have poured their own concrete to build DIY parks beneath freeway overpasses before.
Dusting off one that’s already complete will be nothing.
The idea wasn’t to destroy the skate park beyond repair. The idea was to make it temporarily unusable to casual skaters.
Yeah, I know. Was just agreeing your point that the skater-slacker stereotype was frequently horseshit.
