Hm. Interesting way to clap. That said, I think his palms were greased. That would reduce friction and thereby allow the speed we see here.

You really don’t need any type of lotion to do the clapping. I do it all the time without lotion, it just makes it easier and “crispier” with it.
The only time where you can injure yourself is if you have bad form, or any type of sweat.
My first record attempt, i had slight sweat on my hands and actually blistered it due too friction.
