Taking the traditional meaning of conservative as being opposed to change, I think it’s a bad thing when said changes are things like equal rights, but extremely good when said change is fascism.
Heck, at one point I would have told you that’s why societies should have some conservatives in the first place – to put on the brakes in case we are about to go down a terrible road. It turns out those are still the progressives, though, while the right-wing couldn’t care less so long as they get to hurt black and trans and poor people.
