Not outright purchased, 'cause I’ve spent too much lately on books, but very firmly on the wishlist for Christmas because anything by J.H Williams is worth buying…

This is the sort of book I could really sink my teeth into.

Back in 2018 The same artist released an illustrated version that included the full text. It also had animations, and was only available on Kindle Fire tablets.

I am here for it!

Nice! It’s kind of surprising how many adaptations have some version of Dracula being killed with a wooden stake through the heart given that the original novel has a literal cowboy fucking his shit up with a Bowie knife.

Hollywood has a tendency to add cinematic action sequences when source material gets adapted to the screen but in that case they really did the opposite.

The style reminds me a lot of Jon J. Muth’s Dracula: A Symphony in Moonlight & Nightmares.

Currently on the subway or I’d post images from it.

Hmm - I may have to check this out.

I would be remiss with out mentioned two other Dracula based books.

One is part of anthology called Shockwave by Kult Creations in the UK and it features the criminally underrated artwork of David Hitchcock for Nosferatu 2.

They do kickstarters for each issue, but you can get back issues here:

The second is a retelling of Bram Stoker’s story by Matt Wagner and Kelly Jones.

I guess made by Dark Horse (ETA looks like they are doing the cheaper TPB, while the hardcover is by Orlok Press), it too was kickstarted and book 2 is kickstarting right now.

I used my library card and the Hoopla app to get the ebook version free for a few weeks. Really enjoyed it. Anyone have some favorites from this same artist? I’m developing a taste for his work.
