Kelly Hrudey was on duty many nights. I was an L.A. Kings fan and got to watch him goaltend in like a million games.

It’s eminently clear to me that none of you watch hockey on Canadian TV (where to this day Kelly Hrudey is a hockey analyst/talking head)

That’s who was thinking of. When we had cable, I’d see him every Saturday night on Hockey Night in Canada.

I spent many nights back in LA listening to the games on AM radio and cheering on Kelly Hrudey. As @Chuckles said above - he was synonymous with that period of LA Kings hockey.

The crew at Pirate Radio (100.3 FM) played this frequently on the morning show. That and “The Battle Of The Smythe” as the Kings made their playoff runs against Edmonton and Calgary (1989?) were imprinted in my memory early on.
