As with many things involving Trump, for the last 200+ years there’s been a vast number of things that we don’t have explicit laws prohibiting because no President has been so much of an asshole to declare that he’s going to personally profit from gouging the country and decimating the government. It’s always just kind of been assumed that our leaders would, y’know, think of the country first. But when you hire a well-known thug to be President, folks shouldn’t be surprised when he keeps acting like a thug.

If I remember reading correctly, they moved into the office space previously used by the Trump campaign, which is eye-punching, but more in a “garbage fire” sort of way.

We’ve always had our share of corrupt politicians at every level of government here in the U.S. The thing that appalls me is that while people used to get upset about corruption when the news media shined a light on it, now Trump’s opponents can only manage to shrug of resignation, while his supporters find his behavior enviable or even laudable.
