My favorite is Vermillion Lies’ song about Bonnie and Clyde.

So… wait… so… Clyde’s actual friend wrote the song? But then the actor who played Clyde rewrote it and also recorded it? How can you achieve that level of meta with no internet? Telegraph? I think not.
