Do not go gentle.
I know it’s hard, but giving up just means that the evil assholes get exactly what they want.
Do not go gentle.
I know it’s hard, but giving up just means that the evil assholes get exactly what they want.
I will also send you a virtual hug, though I don’t have the firepower of Mindysan33’s GIFs.
Consider this wishes.
Though I know from personal experience that isn’t easy. Don’t give up and keep fighting (I have to tell myself that a lot).
Let me re-write it for them:
Bette Midler July 4 Transphobic Tweet on women’s rights
Maybe it would be good to relocate now; before the rush. If you can.
It’s hard to fight when you’re so vastly outnumbered.
I would try to make sure they pay if they come for me - but that may not be possible.
I know, it sounds desperate, but i can’t even think about giving up. If you give yourself permission to surrender, you already have. I can’t change the whole world, I can’t protect every person, but I can do what I can where I am. Maybe it’s not enough, but it will be all I have.
If I can save me then maybe somebody else sees that and gets the strength to carry on too.
If it all goes to shit then it’s me against millions.
Fair enough. I like a challenge.
Don’t ever think you stand alone. I’m not even on their target list, but lots that I know and love are. I will make sure that if I go down, they know I was here.
All of that, Doc.
It feels weird not be the most endangered out of society for once, but that just makes me more determined to stand and fight for my trans brothers and sisters, and for anyone who is persecuted due to mindless bigotry.
Together
My usual mid-day run starts through a suburban neighborhood. The sheer concentration of signs supporting BLM, trans rights, and this general theme of loving and supporting each other is incredible. I just want to knock on doors and give people sweaty hugs, though perhaps it’s better if I don’t.
Posting this as it’s already being lost under a deluge of BoJo
Its decision comes after Forstater successfully brought a test case to establish that gender-critical views are a protected philosophical belief under the Equality Act. She initially lost that case at an employment tribunal in 2019 but won a landmark decision on appeal last year, with the judge stressing that while gender-critical views might be “profoundly offensive and even distressing to many others … they are beliefs that are and must be tolerated in a pluralist society”.
Responding to the decision, Forstater said: “My case matters for everyone who believes in the importance of truth and free speech. We are all free to believe whatever we wish. What we are not free to do is compel others to believe the same thing, to silence those who disagree with us or to force others to deny reality.”
…
She also thanked JK Rowling for standing by her. The Harry Potter author tweeted: “Every woman who’s been harassed, silenced, bullied or lost employment because of her gender critical beliefs is freer and safer today, thanks to the warrior that is @MForstater.”Stonewall, the LGBTQ+ campaign group, said: “Today’s judgment … does not change the reality of trans people’s workplace protection. No one has the right to discriminate against, or harass, trans people simply because they disagree with their existence and participation in society.”
Amanda Glassman, chief executive of CGD, said: “We are reviewing today’s judgment, which found in favour of Ms Forstater on some claims, and dismissed others. CGD’s primary aim has always been to uphold our values and maintain a workplace and an environment that is welcoming, safe, and inclusive to all, including trans people.”
Fuck the fuck off, Joanne, you intolerant hack.
Words make a hostile work environment.
