Trans widows?
They just left you, love, staying would have felt like dying.
I thought transwidows were trans people whose spouses died?
You can’t keep up with their nonsense.
And nor do I want to.
Co-opt the phrase.
For both people in the relationship.
That would be a full time job.
Everyone should respond to them about how horrible it is for trans people to lose their partners. And how the funeral expenses can be so difficult for us.
Bit of a dramatic way for them to get a deadname…
Paywalled fascist bullshit.
The “coming out” they refer to is stating they voted Leave on Brexit.
A centralized government list of trans people and being asked “papers please” several times a day.
What could possibly go wrong?
I’m old enough to remember when you carried a doctor’s or therapist’s letter on you to show the police because it might stop them from arresting you. They were not better times.
No, indeed. It should be seen as an abhorrent idea, as ever, yet there it is, in the Comment pages of a national newspaper, giving just the veneer of plausible deniability and not officially supporting a party line.
It’s been called The Torygraph for years for a reason.
Don’t people already carry ID – things like driver’s licenses? And those list gender on them, so they already tell you more than is really anyone’s business.
I wish there were some way to treat things like this as at least a tort. I mean, they’re definitely defaming and threatening people.
In daily life in the UK one only need produce a driver’s licence after committing a driving offence or being involved in an accident.
Passports are only required to leave the country.
There is no requirement to carry any form of personal identification.
One would suspect this Telegraph commenter merely wishes to make the lives of a certain demographic harder.
We’re supposedly not required to carry one here also.
Apparently it was written in 2019 by a conservative trans woman…
Shame the article is still doing the rounds.
They did remove the author’s name, so maybe she even regrets writing it.
Same thing in the US, although cops will try to tell you differently.
Ah. I see that @KathyPartdeux got there first!
Great minds, etc
