Doesn’t everyone force their name on others without asking? Excepting your parents, of course.
I followed her (Jenner’s) story a while back. She tells of starting the transitioning process repeatedly and then backing out. Over and over, until she got to a point where she could deal with the blowback. I have to suspect that is not all that uncommon, hopefully less so now, but still…
The data is not great, but I seem to remember reading that most detransitioners end up going through retransition - they detrans because of lack of acceptance and bigotry, not because they aren’t trans. They still have dysphoria, it’s just better for them in that moment to not have to deal with the discrimination of being trans. Hell, many of the detransitioners made famous by GCs have ended up retransitioning or in some cases, didn’t even detrans, just campaigned against transition while continuing to take hormones.
I have a lot of respect for detransitioners who legitimately find that transitioning wasn’t for them. Just as long as they don’t try to take away my ability to transition (which is immensely right for me).
I knew one or two who detransitioned only at work- so they could have any kind of job at all. It didn’t work forever because you look different and there’s no way to keep that knowledge of you completely separate. People find out.
I would suspect they never really had to live the general level of systemic misogyny in our society-as not only a white guy but a navy seal they had all kinds of assumed privilege. They may have assumed that every problem was because of their being trans when most of them were just about being perceived as an average woman.
The privilege continues in their feeling that what they feel/want must be what everybody feels/wants.
The Professional Disc Golf Association ruled against transwomen after a faulty (and strange AF) questionnaire followed by dubious medical advice. This effectively destroys several transwomens’ careers.
That’s calling for violence against us.
An update
Good news!
Now the UK government needs to classify them as a terrorist organization and we’ll have something!
Sounds too much like “Papers, please!”
It’s NONE of the government’s business who is and who is not trans.
I’d go a step further and say it sounds like they’re preparing a list of people to detain.
Exactly how I would interpret that. Scary and infuriating, but very on brand.
Step 1 in the plan to eliminate us
It might be a good idea for those who are able; to stock up on a few years of brown market medication in case they disrupt supplies. Or in case you need to go dark to surveillance by the state or whoever they release the data to.
“Sure I’m paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?”
The really scary thing is that they probably think they can do that quietly and no one will raise hell. Should anything in that vein be proposed, hell will be raised.
That’s something I’ve been thinking about. I already have 2 unopened vials through my prescription — it’s probably a good idea to have significant backup supply.
“Just because you’re paranoid, doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you.”
Pills would store for much longer and be cheaper. Though more health risks. Letting them dissolve sublingually helps with that.
It’s a break glass in case of emergency thing anyway.
