And if I remember correctly, when they were proposing bills against trans athletes in high school events there were maybe 4 kids statewide that had identified as trans. I’m sure there are more there, but it did seem like using a bazooka on a mosquito.
That’s the number of trans girl athletes. A much more niche number than the number of trans people overall- or the number who perform in the arts - or however far they wish to expand the list of professions. Sorry- you can’t be a teacher. That used to be the case. You can’t use the public library. I don’t want to see you on the streets- a kid could be in their front yard as you walk past.
According to the Williams Institute at the UCLA Law School- the experts in LGBT demographics- there are 1.6 million trans people in the US over the age of 13. With a higher percentage on non adults.
In Montana- .78% of people between 13 to 17 are transgender. For all adults it’s.42%. Many older adults could not transition when younger- and you can bet that a lot of transgender people leave Montana.
The Black population there is .5%. Native Americans & Pacific Islanders 1%.

Given the 2022 pop of Montana- and using .5% to even out the age variance- roughly 56,000 trans people in Montana.
Or - to put it in perspective- roughly the size of their 3rd largest city.
That would be a very back of the envelope calculation to try and include the under 13 too.

UK government now threatening to stop recognising Gender Recognition Certificates from all countries that allow self-ID, in an attempt to undermine the new Scottish legislation.
