Huh, didn’t know IMDB had started listing audio only productions.

me neither, but that’s the only Sandman production due out this year. They are just in pre-production of the show.

“ Despite his words, Boris Johnson has made no moves to further trans equality in his time as prime minister and has allegedly abandoned all efforts to do so.

In April, Johnson’s equalities chief Liz Truss set out her plans to remove gender-affirming healthcare for trans youth and protect “single-sex spaces”, with the implicit understanding that trans women would be barred from using them.

These worrying policies were also referenced in a leaked report seen by The Sunday Times , which stated that Truss and Johnson are allegedly planning to ignore the results of a public forum, scrap the long-delayed GRA reforms and instead bring in “new protections” for women’s spaces.”

Signed the letter.

I read “Jesse Singal” and “fired” and was happy to finally see some good news here until my eyes figured out the words in between. :frowning:

J.K. Rowling’s Maya Forstater tweets support hostile work environments, not free speech

“ Forstater, though, admitted that she would continue to behave in a way that the law defines as harassing, and which would contribute to a “intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment” — which is why the court ruled that the nonprofit was entitled to not renew her contract.”

It’s about being allowed to harass and intimidate trans people.

This professor sucks. I like this response!

Shit, even LESBIANS do not exist! WTF?

I specifically cover Hirschfeld and the his interwar institute when I teach world history to dispel the idea that trans identities and experiences are “new”… they are not. Even bringing it back to the 19th and 20th century helps people understand the history here…

Educated guess: erasing trans histories has a long pedigree too…

Although it appears more often the case in the Western world. Yay for progress.

Indeed it does! I’m glad to see so many scholars today in a variety of historical fields working hard to correct the historical record and bring these stories back to us. It’s hard, complicated work, especially from before the modern/early modern period, but it’s possible and some have taken that task on. I’m grateful for people doing that work, because it helps me better understand that history and to better represent marginalized voices in the classroom.

That reads as sadly familiar to my own run-in with a trans history denialist pre-insert year here but he certainly wasn’t a professor of anything, a professor of talking shite i suppose. As others pointed out there is a long history to draw upon so for this fellow to base his argument on the first recorded surgery or whatever immediately makes me question his motive when he should have no excuse of being ignorant of fact.

Into rags or in the hole
And our bruises are coming
But we will never fold
