Sorry? The next target?
Transphobia was what opened the door for the striking down of Roe v. Wade. TERs dropped their guard over a issue that they thought was won, and we all lost badly.
I made comments where I predicted this would happen.
Heâs going to end up on the Conservative Working Mens Club circuit at this rate.
So âcancelledâ he was talking at an event attached to the Tory conference yesterday.
It gets worse.
He probably loves the Tories, and doesnât realise that âIrishâ is also on the list of targets.
Thatâs in the Sky News article above.
Interestingly, it wasnât on the BBC this morning, but has been repeated on the radio, followed each time by a statement that there is no proof trans people are any particular problem in hospitals, instead, the reports then focus on hospital staff striking.
Effectively, dismissing his targeting of trans people and refocusing on his [the Health Secretaryâs] lack of solutions to the NHS pay and staffing crisis.
I missed it, probably because I keep dissociating because itâs about 20 years since I got put in the hell house where I got death threats and bricks though the window. On my fucking birthday too, which is why I donât celebrate it anymore.
Everything old is new again.
Linehan has previously stated that âevery central trans figure is a n**ceâ.
This must be a British slur, and I really donât want to know. But seriously, this guy is an asshat of the first degree!
Heâs claiming that we are paedophiles. Someday heâs going to lose everything he still has and he still wonât realise that he did it to himself.
Not fucking soon enoughâŚ
But you are right, he will blame it on âWokismâ and deny that his behavior has anything at all to do with it. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.
This is part of the problem, though. A huge part of the transphobe argument is that âtrans folks are mentally ill.â This is a method proven to markedly decrease mental health issues in trans folks. Therefore, evil, obviously. If it makes trans people healthier and happier, it must be outlawed. For reasons⌠I guessâŚ
World Aquatics said Tuesday it had received âno entriesâ for the open category events scheduled to take place at a World Cup starting Friday in Berlin.
Swimmingâs governing body, formerly known as FINA, had previously banned transgender competitors from major eventslike the Olympics and world championships, but said it was committed to creating an open category for all swimmers when it first adopted its âgender inclusion policyâ last year during the worlds in Budapest, Hungary.
The open category was supposed to make its debut on a pilot basis with 50-meter and 100-meter races in Berlin. Those races will not now take place.
World Aquatics said its open category working group will continue its work.
Not that anyone in this thread will find this surprising, but hereâs the âproblemâ theyâre âsolvingâ
Prof Williamsâs HateLab project uses artificial intelligence to monitor hate speech online to find out if it translates to real-world hate crimes.
He said there has been a significant rise in anti-trans rhetoric across social media over the past few years.
âItâs the one category that we routinely monitor that proportionately has the greater amount of hate speech. More than, for example, when we look at anti-Muslim hate speech, anti-black hate speech and antisemitic hate speech.â
He added it had been fuelled by âaggressive press coverageâ, which feeds into the cycle of hate speech on social media.
