A new detransition lawsuit advancing the theory that gender-affirming care constitutes gay conversion therapy was filed last month in Massachusetts. The suit was filed on behalf of a gay man referred to in the suit by his legal name, July Carlan, and by an alias, Shape Shifter. It claims that the treatments Carlan pursued over many years for his gender dysphoria amounted to conversion therapy, because the provider, Fenway Health, should have known Carlan would later come to believe he was motivated by internalized homophobia. By not discerning this ten years before it happened, the suit claims, Fenway was engaging in conversion therapy.
According to the lawsuit, Carlanâs first appointment at Fenway happened months after he had already begun to live full time as a trans woman, in 2012. After two appointments he was approved and started hormone therapy. He continued living as a trans woman and after several years and extensive therapy eventually obtained gender reassignment surgery in 2015. In 2022 he announced he was detransitioning, and now feels intense regret over his surgery.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced Tuesday that âany Male to Female participants who have been through any form of male puberty,â will not be allowed to partake in international womenâs cricket.
Well, I have to hand it to them. For the first time there is a drag performance that is actually linked to groomers. 
If people are concerned about fairness in sports, the first place to start is private (mostly Christian) schools. If they donât want to compete against trans athletes, then they donât have to be allowed to compete at all.
The Supreme Court will probably require the plaintiffs to show how the Founders felt about basketball.
Iâve probably mentioned this before in some thread around here, but another time wonât hurt. This story is about the absurdity of the premise that cis women athletes canât complete against either men or trans women. When I was in high school in Texas in the 1980s, my school, a public school, had soccer teams, both boys and girls. But the big local Catholic school, which was a smaller school, only had a boys team. A couple of my male friends were on the soccer team, and they got excited before their game with the Catholic school because they found out that school had a girl on their team. Because the Catholic school didnât field a girls team, they had to let this girl who wanted to play soccer play on the boys team. WellâŚI donât actually know if they had to let her play, but they did. So my friends were happy because they thought this was going to be an easy win. Their tune changed after the game. That girl was easily the best player on the field, on either team. She kicked everyoneâs ass. You might even recognize her name. It was Mia Hamm.
And my point of this story is that the variance in athletic ability within one sex is greater that the average difference in athletic ability between the sexes.
