Today in internalized transphobia.

Also:

And he’s apparently a friend of that wifeless guy who used to have a family and career.

Nice of them to make a convenient list of who to avoid.

Sîan Lacey Taylder (academic writer, author and transsexual)

Ruan Ward (trans artist)

Claudia McLean (transsexual singer, writer)

“So who are the “celebrities” who have signed their names to this unsolicited defense? Comedian Barry Humphries is listed there, despite having passed away in April of this year. He was a transphobe despite being a famous drag performer, so I suppose he could have signed a few months in advance. John Cleese is on there, listing himself as a “squirrel-trainer,” presumably because he can’t resist being the center of attention even when he’s supposed to be solemnly supporting a woman, or perhaps because “comedian” no longer describes him. All-around woman-hater Graham Linehan is obviously on there. Interestingly, he’s still describing himself as a “writer,” which is funnier than any joke he’s ever told.”

Had to google EPC, but yeah, all those make a twisted sense.

Because, across all walks of life, some people who have “made it” instictively try to pull the ladder up after themselves.

I know it’s beside the point, but “the world is not in your books and maps, it’s out there” is one hell of a Tolkien quote. Sure enough, it actually comes from the 2012 hobbit movie and is absent from his original book. And anyone who knows anything about him would have to suspect it does not represent his views, having devoted his entire life to the joys of studying and inventing books and maps.

Guess they put the same level of care in deciding what they think about other authors too.

Some silver lining here: some people who signed up to be extras in a Daily Wire film without knowing the company or what the film was about are upset about the content and wouldn’t have participated if they’d known. Belmont University has also backed out of providing filming locations.

Follow up on the motivation

“Waterloo Police Chief Mark Crowell said the suspect, who had been interviewed by police, wanted to make a “statement” about gender identity”

I didn’t know homicidal was a gender identity.
