It’s worse than that.
They now have a list of trans people, I’m sure everything is fine /s
I work for Vanderbilt. I don’t think I’ve ever said that here before but then there’s never been a need to share it before now. I work for the library which is separate from the medical center but I will still be protesting this and demanding answers as to why the medical center simply gave in to this decision. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they waited until after graduation. They didn’t want to deal with student protests.
I won’t speak for anyone else but I hope I can get some fellow staff members to help protest this.
I would suggest giving that info in a private message, not someplace this public.
Op-sec has become a lot more important than it once was.
Do not talk about doing anything illegal or that could threaten your job!
They will go after the allies too.
It never stops
Hi. In today’s episode, we look at the right-wing moral panic surrounding drag queens, the nonsensical laws many states are trying to pass, and the ways in which grifters are trying to use the panic to attack the rights of LGBTQ+ people.
This latest decision, however, is not just limited to those who brought a lawsuit against the state. It applies to the mammoth, multibillion-dollar safety net health care program that is paid for by a mix of state and federal tax dollars. Those who filed the initial legal challengeestimated that up to 9,000 Medicaid enrollees in Florida are transgender.
“There is no rational basis for a state to categorically ban these treatments or exclude them from the state’s Medicaid coverage,” stated Hinkle, who was first appointed to the court by former President Bill Clinton.
Hinkle ruled that the ban on Medicaid paying for hormone therapy or “puberty blockers” was an equal protection violation and went against federal Medicaid law as well as the Affordable Care Act. He called the restrictions “purposeful” discrimination against transgender individuals and not a “legitimate state interest.” The lawsuit was brought against the state on behalf of two transgender adult men and the families of two transgender minors.
Transphobic and lazy
In Oakland, CA yet.
I’m glad every pharmacist I’ve dealt with so far has been very pleasant except when they’re obviously overworked and exhausted.
Same, one even told me I could change from my legal name to my preferred and offered to do that for me (I have yet to change my name because I need to go to court on the other side of the continent in a different country), and generally are either indifferent or super excited to see me. I was routinely greeted by name at my old pharmacy back in Saskatchewan, it was a lovely welcoming place.
I think if you have religious objections to serving customers their medications, you should find another field. Your religious beliefs have no business getting between me and my doctor, so jog on.
The “Nazis invented trans people” lie has been turning up and disproved for decades.
Along those lines - back in the 80’s people were saying it was the US Army.
Goddammit, Kobach!
ETA: He is such an asshole. DeSantis level asshole.
Must bothsides this. Must find a way…
Yeah, shut up and fuck off.
As far as the cops showing up to support the fascist and bash the trans supporters, no shock at all. They can fuck off too.
