Beau has been harping on that fact for years. Red flags laws for DV are the one law that could legitimately affect mass shootings. Will never happen while the fascists hold veto power. Can’t trust them womenfolk, after all.

James Crumbly has just been found guilty on all counts of involuntary manslaughter.
He’s the father of the 2021 Oxford school shooting shooter.
Both parents have now been found guilty and face up to 15 years in prison.
There’s some precedent.

I’m having a hard time even seeing that as a “plus” in this whole thing. Everything about this situation sucks. I hate that the parents were so unwilling to see what was going on and to take action, I hate that this child couldn’t get the help he needed, I hate that they took so many other people along for the (hell)ride.

Maybe, just maybe, it gets other parents to be more responsible and pay attention to their kids.
My wife and I talked about this, what would we do if we learned our kid was showing the signs this kid was showing.
We agreed we would have no idea but we also agreed if we owned guns they would be removed and we’d go to the school and ask for help.
Or call a family doctor and ask for help. Or ask anyone for help. The system sucks and we may not get help but we would try and keep trying.
Point is a parent can’t always be responsible for their kids actions but these parents were made aware and they decided to buy the kid a gun instead of seeking out help. They were not just bad parents, they were criminal.
All they had to do was try and then if they failed this would have been a different situation for them. It would have been even more tragic because they wanted and needed help but they couldn’t get it. That’s not what happened.
The prosecutor should also use this time in the spotlight to tell people where they can go to get help for their kids if anyone is in the same situation.
So maybe this verdict helps in that sense as well.

No dead kids this time. Just more terrified, traumatized kids. This needs to stop. I don’t know how, but we are destroying our own kids with the gun madness.
