Trump asks Russia to conduct espionage against Hillary Clinton

we don’t protect some NATO allies. We protect ALL NATO allies, or we GTFO.

Trump is fit for the office he holds, the corner one in the golden tower he built for himself.

That’s because most of what comes out of their mouths is bullshit, innuendo, and double talk. He avoids it because it is irrelevant and barely to not-at-all factual, a priori.

I can raise the issue about you and that goat, and you can insist it was just that one time, or deny it virulently. It’s still out there, that story that keeps being raised about that goat, and you, that one time.

Oh, none at all. You’ll get no argument from me on that.

I’m suggesting that we adopt the little green Muppet philosophy when threats to American security are being evaluated:

Actually he did bring it up several times, the whole “taking money from Wall Street” line of attack was questioning her integrity. Of course for conservatives Wall Street money isn’t an issue, “integrity” has a very different meaning on that side of the aisle.

Sorry, I don’t buy that for one second. I think all politicians have a certain amount of dishonesty, the question is: how much and over what issues.

It’s easy in hindsight to excoriate Chamberlain. But I think it means you have to consider doing what Churchill would have done.

For me it is, but then I’m only an occasional conservative sympathizer.

What it’s about for me is Wall Street money, Clinton Foundation money, Bill’s speaking fees money…notice the common element???

That… there’s money involved?

Is it a scandal that an extremely popular former president charges money for speeches, now? That’s pretty much a standard thing, to pay people.

Did you know that President Obama earned money from a bestselling book he wrote? SCANDALOUS!

Not really. You just have to not do what Chamberlain did–which was, as I recall, issue a steam-tweet saying that he’d consider lifting sanctions against Germany and recognizing Czechoslovakia as a German province. My memory may be fuzzy on the issue, but I think that was the gist.

On the plus side, I think the concern on Trump’s response to the Crimean question is mitigated somewhat by the strong likelihood that Trump has no idea what a Crimea is.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he knows at least one important product

supposedly the man behind Trump Vodka doesn’t drink EtOH

I think the response of Obama and European leaders to Crimean annexation has been pretty Chamberlain-like already, at least in terms of (lack of) action. In this analogy, Trump threatens to be Stalin signing the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact: demarcating spheres of influence, basically giving approval to start a war and being oblivious that it sets him up for much bigger trouble down the line.

Dumpf is an idiot and this was simply a weak joke. If you watch the video, it’s easy to see that regarding the comment as serious would be intellectually dishonest.

Would that have deterred Adolf?

I’ve now become aware that if Putin has the deleted emails from Hillary’s server, he is obligated by treaty to turn them over to the FBI.

“Treaty with Russia on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters”

I don’t particularly like defending Trump, but what I got from it was that since the wiped server is in the possession of the FBI, nobody is hacking it now. So the assumption would be that the Russians already have the emails, from previous attacks on the server. Which would mean that the Russians have already read them, but we would like to see them as well.
But I could be wrong.
