Trump confuses Georgia state with eastern European country in latest ad screw-up

whose only concern is that their sun-gazing leader muscles his way back into the White House in Washington state.

Which they must believe is somehow both part of the United States but also in the country, or “district”, of Colombia.

We don’t need to end racism in the next few weeks to win the election. We just need to make sure more people vote for the sane, qualified candidate instead of the blabbering bigot.

If the goal was really to represent the average person, we could do what the ancient Athenians did and appoint offices by lot. I think it would be a long time before they found someone quite as odious, incompetent, ignorant, lazy, arrogant, and mendacious as Trump though. People may be kind or cruel but most have some positive feature or other, and he really stands out for having none at all.

Indeed. Even freaking Hitler had a dog he was fond of. If someone put a gun to my head and asked me to name one genuinely positive quality for TFG I’m not sure I’d be able to do so to save my life.

He’s…learned to stand on his hind legs, like that person who was always standing and walking? Rory Calhoun? :frowning:

As @Melizmatic said, you’re under no obligation to defend fascist leaders. Even in service of pointing out that their followers are idiots.

Who’s this “ourselves” you speak of? Not regular posters on this BBS, and not 50%-plus of the electorate.

With that attitude, “we” can’t lose! /s

It’s because he think his voters base is composed mostly of Caucasians. I can understand the mix up.

He’ll almost certainly be dead within 20 years, hopefully less.

It depends on how you define where Europe stops and Asia starts (or vice versa). One popular definition uses the watershed of the Greater Caucasus, which would leave the north of Georgia in Europe and the south of Georgia in Asia. The EU apparently considers Georgia sufficiently European to entertain the notion of EU membership for Georgia.

Ever since I was a kid I never entirely understood the rationale for defining Eurasia as two continents instead of one. I assume it has something to do with racism.

The original separation between Europe, Asia, and Africa came from the ancient Greeks. It works pretty well for the lands around the Mediterranean. At the time the north was not well known to them and for all they knew the Caspian was part of the northern ocean.

Why we kept it since, I’m less sure.

Ourselves as in 40% of register voters (but probably less of total Americans), plus another percentage of Americans who won’t vote for Trump but don’t challenge the views that he and his supporters have. A significant number of Americans are overly tolerant of fascism and racism, even if they don’t practice it themselves.

Interesting, reminds me of the longstanding misconception that California was an island. Of course, humanity eventually abandoned that concept once we had better maps…

Then you’re speaking of “themselves”, not “ourselves”.

Central Asia to me means Mongolia, and Tuva.

That’s about where the midpoint is, anyway.

If Georgia is Central Asia, then Portugal is Western Asia.
