Trump elected president

Make liberals despise a WallSt-friendly, Goldman-sponsored candidate at a time of global financial scandals and worldwide economic shocks caused by financial and capitalistic pressure.

Do you really need right-wing media for that?

Dude, give up: your horse was just not as good as you thought it was. Next time, choose better.

An ideal Democratic candidate would have been ahead by a strong enough lead so that last-minute sabotoge by the FBI or the 3rd parties wouldn’t have an effect. However, it is not clear who that candidate would have been, and I think it is pretty clear that without that sabotage Clinton would have won.

Scandal: politician conspires with party administrators to heavily bias a primary contest in direct violation of written party rules and established norms, exhibits blatant contempt for public outrage when conspiracy is exposed.

initial analysis suggests 52% of white women voted Trump. 52%.

Stop trying to blame this on some evil force. Clinton was a bad candidate because she had no message for the white working class of all sexes.

I’m in California. My electoral vote went to Hillary. Broken record here but stop blaming other people like me for your failures when we’ve been pointing out your lack of clothes for years and you pooh poohed us. Stop making excuses and put on some clothes.

If you say so. I find it rather counter productive to fuel the guilt complex of the white males already on your side while giving the rest of white males a reason to laugh at them and feel smug about their own racism. But as I have learned earlier in this thread, that may be to European a viewpoint.[quote=“gatto, post:182, topic:89005”]
perhaps no one of us removed any person from the polls directly, but can you really say we’ve been standing up to ensure everyone is represented adequately?

i know i haven’t.

That´s not why Trump won today though. This is not to be layed at the doorstep of an racial demographic, but the people that put Clinton into the democtratic candidate´s position.

Edited for relevance (and who cares about any of what you mentioned? Russia isn’t even on my radar.)

No. They helped. They chose to not make a difference, but could have. They confused expedience with conscience and sacrificed consequence for it instead. They avoided voting when it mattered, and instead of nominating Sanders or voting for Clinton, they stayed at home, sat on their hands or voted “third party”.

They may not be as much to blame as white male and white female voters, but they helped. It’s a mistake to think they didn’t participate in this, because they did.

Alternate interpretation - 52% of white women are stupid and will actively vote against their own interests?

I’m still blaming sexism. If Hillary had five kids by three different dudes, openly cheated on all her husbands, laughed about grabbing young men by the dick, filed for multiple bankruptcies, didn’t pay taxes and had no experience in public service she wouldn’t have been allowed anywhere NEAR the nomination. Just because women voted for Trump doesn’t mean that sexism isn’t responsible for his victory.

OTOH, maybe that WOULD have helped her. (kidding)

The post-mortems will be fascinating to follow.

She’ll be 71.

What? 52% white women voted for Trump, what was the gender divide? The racial divide might have been a thing, sure, but in the end, both candidates where whiter than white, and Trump picked 30%+ Latinos.

The real divide is the economic one - and it’s the field where Clinton was a complete loser because of her ideological ties to the financial elites owning the country. She was one of the few people on Earth that could make a born-millionaire look like an anti-establishment firebrand. Her economic message had no appeal whatsoever for the working class of all races.

How is that “clear”? Her loss this evening was not clear to anyone… until it occurred.

Hillary Clinton lost to a vulgar, cruel, poorly informed man who has never held political office before. That is the fault of her, her coterie and the Democratic Party establishment. She has been slandered for years, and targeted by the extreme right, undoubtedly. However, the Democrats should never have fielded such a fraught candidate. Fair or not (and it is not fair) she was not the optimal choice.

The point was to win, but they preferred to look good while losing. The greatest among them won’t feel the pinch when Republicans Kansasize the entire country; they are too high up the food chain. Hence, their preference for losing beautifully, rather than winning in a tacky manner. Hence the intensity of their defenders here, who are so well connected, so beautiful, the damage won’t really matter to them.

At least, not for a year or two. Once he really overturns the professional elite’s applecarts, who knows.

And you’ll keep losing. Godspeed.

I don’t think he’s going to be seen as unfit by his GOP enablers. They like having control of the White House. Plenty of voters think he’s fit. Trump will just do his looney-tunes act every time he opens his mouth, and that’ll get interpreted, filtered and redirected by his staff, the other branches of government and by professional government agency bureaucrats.

Obama had his anger translator; Trump will have Congress.

A penis that he’s not afraid to wiggle around. (I feel dirty for saying that.)

And that’s still your fault because you didn’t give them anything to vote for other than ‘trust us, our bastards are so much better than their bastards.’

As long add you keep blaming them for not being Good Enough and Enlightened Enough to vote for your bastard because Obviously their bastards are much worse, you won’t have learned a darn thing and will keep losing and have to keep blaming those fucking peasants for not sticking to your game plan.

OK, to get serious for a moment:

I think it is a huge problem that an ambitious man is mostly considered a “goal-getter”, whereas an ambitious women is mostly seen as “bitchy”. Obama had the same problem (“uppity”), but the political climate at the time and his persona helped him out of it.

Anyhoo, if you’re looking for the next female leader, Marine LePen is just around the corner.
