I notice that was in Burbank. I think I only ever saw skywriting like that - i.e., 5 planes in a formation each emitting a portion of the letter - in So. California, maybe in New York (over Long Island). Both were a long time ago (when Ford & Carter were POTUSes). I don’t ever recall seeing a single plane skywriting, e.g. in continuous cursive.
Never having seen skywriting since, I wondered if the Clean Air Act or some other regulation had ended it – or the equipment was repurposed for chemtrails</s>
