To be honest, I was wondering if they tear-gassed the helipad at Walter Reed before 45’s arrival. It’s kind of his walk-on thing now.
/s, possibly

Interestingly, a weird technicality of succession is also how Canada got our first (and only) female prime minister, Kim Campbell back in 1993. It was only for a few months. She ran for election and lost by rather a lot. She was disliked, mostly because of sexist biases, not unlike Pelosi and Hillary. I was rooting for Kim, but
One dose of that costs more than he paid in taxes. Just saying.
They are seriously in jeopardy to get Barrett through if any of them develop complications. Even if they advance it out of Judiciary, they can only lose two more floor votes. If it’s after the election, Mark Kelly could be seated and they couldn’t afford to lose even one vote. If it’s after the election, it is very possible that another GOP senator may get spooked and vote no.
It’s also worth noting that Johnson likely did not contract it from the White House pool like the others. He probably contracted it in the Senate GOP lunch. Yeah, they all sit down together without masks and breathe on each other’s roast beef sandwiches. There could very well be many more positives coming.
ETA: Ok, trying to check my math. So far the vote would be:
49 nay (incl. Collins & Murkowski) vs 51 yay
If they lose two votes, but dems don’t gain any, that puts it at 49 to 49 and Pence breaks the tie.
If they gain Kelly and lose two, that puts it at 49 to 48 and even Pence can’t advance. Is that right?
But don’t you need to know is his DSWD* count first?
* dream sex with devils
Is that his hair?
My thoughts and prayers are with the coronavirus.
While respecting this:
I think it’s clear that resistance comes in many and varied forms.
With apologies for Godwinning:
Pretty sure the Bugs Bunny people were not trying to make specific humans “seem less horrible.”
I am convinced that Tina Fey’s impressions of Sarah Palin did not help Palin’s position in the general election.
I am still convinced humor is an effective tool that can be used with precision. Punching up, not down, is IMO a required first step.
KellyAnne Conway is not “sick.”
She is “Alternatively Healthy.”
I don’t need to know anything about what they’re doing to save that guy, OK, headline sub editor?
The Maryland Republican Party called on supporters to go to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Saturday morning to show solidarity with Trump as he undergoes treatment for covid-19.
In a mass email, Trump campaign adviser David Bossie and state party Chairman Dirk Haire said they were “calling Maryland Republicans to support our President while he rests and recovers, and are coordinating anyone who wants to stand with the President.”
“We need our best supporters to make a showing; this is our moment, our time to show the country what Maryland Republicans can do,” they said in the email, which went out just after 9:30 a.m. “Pick up your friends, pick up your family, and head to Walter Reed Hospital now.”
Spread that enthusiasm!
For some reason, the GOP doesn’t want an evangelical to be in charge of the party, at least one as hardlined as Pence. Sure, W. was religious, and it informed his policies, but his faith was more… “normal” and accessible, I’d argue? Much like W himself. You could still see the frat boy shining through his born again status. And his story of overcoming alcoholism via faith and family was actually pretty compelling. He also was not a theocrat looking to exclude people of different or no faith.

No retweeting or sharing of news blurbs, etc. No comments on politics or the campaign, nothin. To me, that kind of nixes the idea this is fake diversionary stuff.
Doesn’t mean he is seriously ill or anything, but I think the idea of him laying around in a hospital for tactical reasons, WHILE muzzling himself for 48 hours is pretty much unthinkable. Given there is so much talk about him, and he is reacting to none of it, I think he must be at least as ill as they are saying.
I mean… seriously, has any write in candidate not on the official ballot gotten even a tiny fraction of support? I don’t think so. Some third party candidates have had a showing, but not a write in.
