do they lose pence if he’s advanced to the presidency? surely the president doesn’t get a vote even if he was at one point the vp?
Just got my ballot in the mail!!!
This most HOLY of holy objects will be traveling with me to the Supervisor of Elections office on Monday morning.
please don’t mock contact tracing programs. It’s more cost effective than testing everyone all the time, and helps prevent people from infecting others in the presymptomatic phase.
We know that a person with COVID-19 may be contagious 48 to 72 hours before starting to experience symptoms. Emerging research suggests that people may actually be most likely to spread the virus to others during the 48 hours before they start to experience symptoms.
if only such epidemiological measures were broadly available to the general public.
I imagine him wearing a hairnet in bed, looking like he’s in a 1960s B&W sitcom.
Waitaminute, Cunningham was cooking CHICKEN on a GAS GRILL while wearing a BARBECUE themed apron? Good lord.
… and all that plus the sexting is STILL not enough to get me to vote for Tillis.
That’s probably wiser than making it your new band name.
The opposite, I suspect. To have new ones inserted, perhaps?
“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”
i thought it was pretty clear i was mocking cnn, not science.
cnn was plainly pretending like they were revealing some critical information about the path of the virus without actually giving any information. a better lede would have been:
Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin has tested positive for coronavirus after attending several GOP luncheons, making him the third GOP senator to test positive in 24 hours
they hid the contact information in the story probably because they didn’t want to come off as blaming the gop – when that’s exactly who should be blamed, and accurate to the body of the story as for the likely source of his infection.
Paul Mc Cartney then sues. “Hey! I have prior art for both body switching and going back to the USSR!”.
His doctors are still bound by HIPAA and other legal regulations preventing medical staff from disclosing medical information without consent. Any doctor can only tell the public what Trump allows them to tell the public.
There’s also a huge conflict of interest since the President’s medical staff are military doctors, and Walter Reed is a military hospital. So the President (or an acting President) can effectively order them to participate, and order them to say particular things or phrase them a particular way.
Conley seemed a little too comfortable reading what was essentially a campaign press release. But any medical staff dealing with Trump right now are essentially over a barrel. The only things they can say are the things the White House tells them to, and they can be compelled to participate.
Everyone remember that when it comes to any announcement directly involving any medical staff.
Clear as mud
I came to ask something related. Has anyone seen any reports on either:
What the standard of care would be for a similar (demographically speaking, in terms of obesity, etc.) American without health insurance, or
How much his care would rack up in bills for an uninsured or underinsured American?
I feel like that news story might affect some of the remaining fence-sitters.
Same thing I said about Clinton back in the day. Some just can’t do it. No clue.
Demographically, ordinary people Trump’s age are supposed to be on Medicare
Right, but what I’d like to see reported is what someone on Medicare would expect to receive as treatment, as a contrast. With our patchwork system, I don’t know how feasible such a comparison would be, but I’d be interested even in a ballpark comparison.
ETA: I see now you were clarifying that they would, in fact, have some level of health insurance. I’m curious about if Medicare would provide the antibodies or whatever other early treatments T got.
Objection: smoked chicken is one of the best barbecue meats. I move you strike that bit. Otherwise I am aligned.
