The real “temporarily embarrassed capitalists” in America aren’t the workers, it’s the middle class. So long as they see their interests as aligning with the status quo, they’ll remain passive.

That’s why I cited the recent protests in Romania and Ethiopia as examples of the kind of scale and commitment it would take. Sustained actions taking place regularly over a prolonged period of time, on a scale big enough to make the people in charge experience genuine fear.
