the gun is cocked, and the poster i was replying to said trump had “good trigger discipline.” ignoring for a moment the fact trump literally has zero discipline regarding anything, and that trigger discipline (probably) wasn’t a thing until the age of the revolver or later, the implication of a cocked gun is that it’s ready to fire.
none of it makes any sense. nor does this back and forth over a joke.
trump once said, “i could shoot somebody and not lose any supporters.” i wonder if that would still apply if he accidentally shot himself.

It’s hilarious because it’s mostly a straight rip of Emanuel Leutze’s Washington Crossing the Delaware, down to the guy using his foot to push against some ice… that’s not in this version of the painting, so his foot is just awkwardly in the air now for absolutely no reason, but McNaughton can’t just leave it at that, oh nooooo. He’s got to lay it on even thicker, with the swamp, and Trump holding a lamp against the darkness… (so it’s a Biblical reference, too?) and there are a bunch of prominent guns (moreso than the original, despite that painting depicting actual soldiers during a war).
That would be hilarious, some Stalinist style revisionism. I’m not sure there would be anyone left, though, as everyone around Trump has managed to disappoint Dear Leader at this point.

As always, words mean nothing to them. They’ll happily discard one thing if something else comes along, and they’ll happily try to appropriate things for themselves at any time. They’ll yammer about “flag desecration” one moment and then fly black-white-and-blue “American” flags the next. Calvinball is their political philosophy.

Unregulated pollution has killed all the trees.
The crew is less diverse than the revolutionaries in the original painting.
So the painting, in its way, is quite accurate.
