Eventually (since he can’t live forever), he’ll be out of office. My greatest fear is that his incremental lowering of “bottoms” will not be fully addressed, fully corrected, then made permanent with new laws, constitutional amendments, and regs designed to prevent mounting of unrestrained power.

The UN and NATO, if Putin’s thrall gets a second term. The U.S. is retreating into isolationism and protectionism and away from even the pretense of supporting liberal democracy throughout the world. The winding down of the American empire didn’t necessitate us becoming a meaner and petty nation-state disengaged from the international co-operation, but that’s where this regime is taking us.
