These “relentless and draconian countermeasures” have done little to lessen China’s drug problem, according to a report released last year by the Brookings Institute, a Washington, DC-based think-tank.
What’s offensive to me is that all of Trump’s “problems” (and support for his proposed solutions) are counterfactual, either entirely or in the details. That he even recognizes there’s a drug problem is amazing (because it’s acknowledging some aspect of reality), but then his understanding of it is entirely based on fantasy, making it impossible to address the problem (or even making it worse).
It’s like when he announced that he was going to get rid of HIV, then immediately shut down needle exchange programs… which will increase HIV transmission.
Wrong skin color. He’s thinking about other, highly specific “drug dealers.”
Honestly, do you even have to ask the question? He’s been pretty darn clear about what the answer would be.
I dunno. I think his base has a disproportionate number of dealers/users. This may not be the popular position he thinks it is, even with those idiots.
