Trump suing over scathing "Apprentice" movie as 1st clip drops (video)

Rorschach inclusion here is spot on

They should also include DFENS and Gordon Gecko. Or really most characters Michael Douglas played in the '80s and '90s.

Trump only ever wanted to be accepted by New York high society. Given that Trump has lost a lot of his inherited fortune, gone through 3 marriages, has been exposed as a liar, sexual assaulter, idiot, tax fraud criminal, and gained the hatred and despite of the majority of the population, it could be argued he hasn’t even benefitted himself.

Does he look like a happy man? Ever?

He sure does.

I haven’t seen all of his movies, but I thought that Border was pretty interesting. And looking at his IMDB now makes me want to see Holy Spider as well.

Only when he’s bullying someone or being allowed to get away with acting like a spoiled child.

That’s not happiness in the way most of us understand it. At their rotten cores, narcissists are deeply unhappy because a small but insistent part of them never allows them to forget that they’re nowhere near as great as they claim they are.

They’re like Internet tr0lls in that way.

Has anyone yet encountered anyone who wants to see this movie?

What is it that you think it is?

How so? Because Abassi is half Iranian? If that’s what you’re getting at, what is it that you’re saying about Abassi?

I’d usually be interested in watching an actor as talented and committed as Strong portraying a real-life person. The problem with portraying these two is that they’re both cartoon characters to begin with and Strong isn’t that kind of actor (maybe Stan is, but it’s still a challenge for someone serious to play a clown straight).

Cohn usually works in Angels in America because Kushner leaned into it by writing him completely over the top and because directors have learned to cast over-the-top but disciplined actors like Ron Liebman and Al Pacino and Nathan Lane to play him.

Does “looking forward to watching it as an in-flight movie” count?

You know, this touches on something I was thinking about a couple of weeks back when Trump was mocking Kamala for how she laughed.

I can’t recall ever seeing Trump laugh.

What a miserable, weird asshole.

The only way I’d see it is if they’d gotten Matt Berry in the role of Trump.

Though, even then, I’d rather not watch an actual biopic of the guy. Prefer a mockumentary or biopic of a quazi-Trump figure. Maybe:

  • Toast of Manhattan - A grandiose, tacky, wannabe real-estate mogul bustles about the Big Apple, trying in vain to get cultured and wealthy people to accept him into their ranks.

  • The Reynholm - A dissolute, wealthy scion wrecks his own attempts to establish and maintain an eponymous casino. Proving himself incompetent at every turn, each episode he manages to slip out of trouble by ripping off contractors, shady bookkeeping, stalling things in court, etc.

I was assuming someone would eventually get around to giving Trump the treatment Welles gave Hearst in Citizen Kane, only a sucky version because it’s hard to top Welles.

Of course Trump being Trump he totally missed the point of the original Kane as well.

Needs more Gordon Gekko, but yes. It is amazing how people idolize villains.
