I think otherwise. A quick search finds out about 8c in energy costs (300Wh) and about 50c in ingredients. These machines are typically designed to last a few hundreds cycles, if we consider 500 for a 100€ machine, that will be 20c per loaf in machine costs. Back of envelope figure is similar to price of cheap bread (70c for the cheapest 500g white bread I could find).
The plot thickens:
Waking up to the aroma of fresh bread is a pleasant counterpoint to the buzz of the alarm clock. David Cameron copped some flak when he said he didn’t know the price of a loaf because he baked his own in a £100 Panasonic machine. But whether you prefer granary, date and walnut or just plain white, a breadmaker is a great addition to your kitchen.

It’s strongly tied to the price of flour.
David Cameron was intimate with a pig. After that, it seems kind of moot if he knows the price of bread.

Alas, I fear that I may spend the rest of my days in this foul debtors prison…

While I appreciate the line, I think it is important that Marx said, “needs” rather than “wants.” What Trump needs is a kindergarten teacher.
