Bollards is almost the right word
Montreal.
And equally as sexist…
Also, awesome brutalism.
Steve Jackson approves
My mistake! I’ll fix it. Thank you.
Thank you!
The Ontario Science Centre:
That rough grooved concrete is probably a relatively easy surface to free-climb.
It looks like a lightly disguised parked Bolo.
(One of the inspirations for Steve Jackson’s Ogres.)
those are the infantry
You are thinking wrong. I know pretty sure what the meaning of Brutalism is and it does not have anything to do with brutality. I know because Ive read thick books about architecture. “The Modulor” for example, written by one of the fathers of Brutalism.
No. Brutalism wasn’t even invented in the 30s and 40s. More important: pretty much all of the moumental Nazi buildings had just ordinary brick walls, the granite or sometimes field stones was just stuck to the facade to make them look like solid stone buildings. Brutalism, however, depends on concrete,
It’s low bar.
Also, I DID NOT EVEN POST THE PICTURE YOU’RE COMPLAINING ABOUT. That was @teknocholer…
JFC.
Sharks, with frickin’ laser beams on their heads!!
The lowest of low bars… you’ve never seen a bar so low!
If @ax11’s reply was to me, I didn’t claim that was an example of Brutalism. I suggested it as a model for the sort of structure Trump wants.
@anon61221983, sorry that you got caught up in the confusion.
Try looking up the actual word in a dictionary instead of only confirming your biases.
He started going on about nazi architecture, so I can only assume. I literally made no comments about nazi buildings, and only appreciated the brutalist building that @anon50609448 posted.
It’s not your fault, though. And I think I got what you were trying to say with that.
But hey, let’s not let that stop him from mansplaining architecture to me… there’s a rightful order to things, ya know! /s
