That would be nice, however obligatory:
Emphatic agreement of “yes.”
Once again, I refer everyone to @Mister44 and @anon67050589’s prediction.
NOOOO!!! Urdoin it rong1!11
I as going to say, perhaps (in hindsight) on a related note, it seems to form a southern border of Appalachia:
Yeah. If you pay attention to the metrics on Gerrymandering the most popular comparison seems to be % of popular vote nation wide vs % of seats won. I think the GOP last round got 52% of the popular votes, but netted 57% of actual seats. Though I don’t remember if that’s the house, state offices, or all of that together. The issue isn’t that it increases the number of votes, but that it results in representation disproportionate to that vote.
So its conceivable that you could still swing the house. If they’re getting 5% more seats that pure voting would dictate. What happens if their share of the vote drops to 42%? They get 47% of seats. But that’s all for proportion of available seats. Can’t take a seat that’s not being contested or not up for re-election.
I think the lack of chance to swing it boils more down to the number of available seats. There aren’t enough offices up for re-election and being contested for expected popular vote to over come that disproportionate number of wins. So you’d need a pretty startling collapse in support or voter turn out to make enough of a dent. That said its a lot more plausible right now than it was in the spring.
I’m used to these political red/blue maps having different shades of red and blue, but this is the first one I’ve seen where the red includes brown. Somehow I think that’s very appropriate.
All talk of secession can be quickly put down with talk of selling Texas back to Mexico.
538 gives Trump a 12.6% chance, eh?
I’d feel better if I didn’t roll 1 about about a third the time I roll a d8.
I’ll only feel safe (and I’m not even American) when Trump is buried at a crossroads with a stake in his heart, his head removed, and his mouth stuffed with garlic.
That man has come back from the dead more times than Dracula.
Hell has no polling stations?
